In KVK farm we have a Sirohi goats’ demonstration unit under which breeding of females with elite males was done, suitable for north India. This breed has a unique character of giving birth to deplete or triplets and has good FCR. This is the studious breed with good immunity and resistant power. Adult female goat weighs around 25-35 kg whereas adult male weigh around 40-45kg. We are producing around 10-15 goat kids per year and distribute to the local farmers with a nominal charge and preference is given to those farmers who have taken training on goatary from the KVK.
